The following people have had a profound effect on my life. They have all given me very specific tools to enable me to be who I am.
Maty Ezraty: My mentor. Maty generously opened her
arms and was and will forever be my yoga teacher.
She
shared her abundance of knowlege about yoga. She
gave
me the tools I needed to become a yoga teacher and
practitioner. Yet she went beyond that. She opened
her
heart as well. Maty treated me like a daughter and
I
came to love her like a mother. I am and will be
forever grateful and blessed to have her in my
life.
Chuck Miller: I regret that I never studied with
Chuck
while he was at Yoga Works. I have been fortunate
enough to get to know him as a person and to study
with him on retreats. Chuck is a pillar of wisdom
and
goodness. I have never met a kinder more loving
soul.
His warmth and compassion and generosity in spirit
inspire me to be a better person.
My Mother: My mother is the strongest person I
have
ever met. She has loved me and supported me since
the
day I was born. She has allowed me to become an
independent, courageous woman who can effortlesly
speak her mind and face any challenge that comes
along. Her strength and love and sense of humor
and
full support has enabled me to be and become,
"ME."
My Father: Let me begin by saying my father has
the
sickest sense of humor in the world and has passed
it
along to me...thanks you! My father is the most
intuitive, insightful person I have ever met. He
has
taught me to process life and to engage it with
awareness. He has passed along the gift of being
able
to understand people at a place beyond the
surface.
He
has enabled me to be an emotional, feeling
individual
with compassion and empathy.
Vinnie Marino: My first yoga teacher. Vinnie's
humor
and generous spirit touched me from the first day
I
ever took his class. He taught me the foundation
of
the asanas and introduced the idea of how yoga
can
calm the mind and open you up in ways that go
beyond
the physical. His classes are, THE BEST. I am
blessed
to have his friendship and companionship.
Seane Corne: Seane's was the first yoga class I
took
in LA. It was during one of her infamous Sunday
hip
opener classes that I finally started to cry and
then
bawl and realised the power that yoga just may
have.
Seane is an inspiration. A strong, beautiful yogi
with
an abundance of energy and character.
Annie Carpenter: Annie was the first teacher I
ever
assisted and the first teacher who decided that I
was
going to teach my very first posture! Everytime I
take
Annie's class I learn something new. Her knowledge
of
the body and of yoga is like no one elses in the
world. I occasioanlly take her class and I am
always
humbled and inspired to be a better teacher.
Charles James: The heart of the Ashtanga room.
Charles
is one of the kindest, wisest most generous human
beings I know. Charles is our guardian angel. He
watches over all the students in the Ashtanga room
and
generously shares his insights and wisdom with us
all.
There is always a smile on his face and his warmth
and
love are felt by everyone.
My Students: You are the soul of my teaching. You
all
inspire me ever day to be a better teacher and a
better human being. Your dedication, warmth, humor
and
good nature are a blessing to me. I'm honored to
be
on
this journey with you.
